Last week I received an invitation to attend a “Facebook Live” with Best Selling author Jim Huling. Jim is not only the coauthor of “The Four Disciplines of Execution” and Author of the powerful motivational book “Choose Your Life”, he is also one of my favorite podcasters. Find his podcast here   I rearranged my lunch schedule and tuned in.

What I thought would be a prefabricated informational session turned out to be a true interactive event. Jim “delivered the wow” and led us in an intimate mastermind session…. I got to participate on a real level!!

Here are my main takeaways

  1. Own your mornings and evenings – schedule them for what is important to you (Prayer, Meditation, reading whatever sets your mindset) – they are bookends for your day!
  2. If you are not wholehearted in something – say no to it – Jim had an amazing quote here that I plan on making into a piece of wall art “The antidote for exhaustion is not rest, it is wholeheartedness”
  3. Leave yourself some margin, as you get older, your tolerance for “too much” goes down. You would not run a business with zero margin – why would you run your life that way? Schedule transition time between meetings and tasks for ultimate productivity.
