I first met Brigam when he was a\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/span>salesman for a local winery, he called on my store and we developed an instant rapport. At the end of our conversation about wine, we discovered we go to the same Church. After working at a charity tasting together, he got me engaged in mission work\u00a0in Oaxaca, Mexico.\u00a0 Brigam has always excelled at everything he does but now he is taking his Mission Work to the next level. I wanted to give my readers a chance to learn of it first\u00a0hand.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Mission work and church have always been a big part of my life – I wouldn’t <\/span><\/span><\/span>b<\/span><\/span>e the person I am without my church family or faith.<\/span><\/span> Thank you for being with me on my faith walk as I\u2019ve spent many years working in the <\/span><\/span>m<\/span><\/span>ission field both stateside and internationall<\/span><\/span>y<\/span><\/span>. With your support and guidance I believe I\u2019ve been set on this path and <\/span><\/span>c<\/span><\/span>alled to be a full-time missionary in Mexico for 2018. It<\/span><\/span>\u2019<\/span><\/span>s only through your continued support that this call can be a reality. Please <\/span><\/span>join me in<\/span><\/span> helping to show Christ’s love to those in need.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

One of my first experiences on the mission field came when I was 14. I joi<\/span><\/span>n<\/span><\/span>ed a group going to <\/span><\/span>W<\/span><\/span>est <\/span><\/span>V<\/span><\/span>irginia, where we gave a 106 year old shut-in, who couldn’t leave his house, the gift of being able to go outsi<\/span><\/span>d<\/span><\/span>e again. <\/span><\/span>W<\/span><\/span>e tore out the old, broken down ramp outside his house and built a new one. Just watching the look of joy on that man’s face changed my<\/span><\/span> heart.<\/span><\/span> That is the moment I fell in love with missions.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

Since then, I’ve been on over 30 international missions. Some ha<\/span><\/span>v<\/span><\/span>e been as short as a week and some have been as long as eight <\/span><\/span>m<\/span><\/span>onths. Although I’ve been all over the world, most of my work has been in Mexico. I<\/span><\/span>‘<\/span><\/span>ve been working there for over 10 years no<\/span><\/span>w<\/span><\/span>, mostly with Adventures in Life Ministr<\/span><\/span>y<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

W<\/span><\/span>e\u2019ve accomplished some amazing things <\/span><\/span>such as<\/span><\/span><\/span> hosting kids and<\/span><\/span> vocational camps, providing water filters to fight against chronic <\/span><\/span>i<\/span><\/span>llness, assisting with construction and labor, teaching people ess<\/span><\/span>e<\/span><\/span>ntial life skills at our demonstration ranch, and running medical<\/span><\/span> clinics. <\/span><\/span>Through<\/b><\/span><\/span> our<\/b><\/span><\/span> work:<\/b><\/span><\/span> lives<\/b><\/span><\/span> are<\/b><\/span><\/span> saved,<\/b><\/span><\/span> kids<\/b><\/span><\/span> are<\/b><\/span><\/span> given<\/b><\/span><\/span> a<\/b><\/span><\/span> brighter<\/b><\/span><\/span> future,<\/b><\/span><\/span> and<\/b><\/span><\/span> people<\/b><\/span><\/span> come<\/b><\/span><\/span> to<\/b><\/span><\/span> know<\/b><\/span><\/span> Jesus.<\/b><\/span><\/span> Although it<\/span><\/span>\u2019<\/span><\/span>s trying at times, the rewards far outweigh the trials… and in my mind, further solidifies my call to conti<\/span><\/span>n<\/span><\/span>ue to serve Jesus through international missions.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

I’ve been called to work with<\/span><\/span> Adventures in Life Ministry for 2018 and I want to follow that call.<\/span><\/span> T<\/span><\/span>o do so I must raise $50,000. Why so much? Simple. Everything in the mission field costs<\/span><\/span> money and <\/span><\/span>I plan on doing a lot for the Kingdom<\/u><\/span><\/span>. For example, I will be taking a class and obtaining the necessary equipment to<\/span><\/span> fit people for glasses.<\/span><\/span> This will allow me to help give the gift of sight, and help some see for the first time. Howeve<\/span><\/span>r<\/span><\/span>, the initial start up cost for that is $2,500. So, as you can see, things can and will add up quickl<\/span><\/span>y<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
